Use your Life!

Today I was Very much inspired by Oprah. She has this amazing new show on her OWN network, called "Oprah's life class". It is worth the watch!  It really made me think and inspired me to write this blog.. We all have talents, we all have a special gift nobody else has.. Why not use those talents to better our lives, and help other's? Think about it for a second.. If we have the power   to make one person's day a bit brighter, happier, and perhaps even make that person smile, why not? If we have a gift that not only moves us, we love and has the ability to touch another person's life WHY NOT? What are you waiting for? Let's live a life full of purpose!!  It can be as simple as striking up a conversation with that lonely elder neighbor of yours, or making others laugh.. Bottom line is if your talent is something that enables you to be happy, & to help others, than you are blessed. EMBRACE it. Whether it is art, music, literature, nursing, comedy, serving, designing, cooking, protecting, talking, counseling, writing, playing, athletic, humane, religious, business, I MEAN ANYTHING that MOVES YOU! Whatever it is that god has given you, use this talent/gift for the better. Just Live. Find your purpose, your calling, and once you do apply it every day, perfect it, grow it, and help change not only your life, but someone else's.. After all we are all here for something bigger than we imagine. Our time is limited on this earth..Let's not let the clock continue ticking away.. Let us LIVE and use our lives & enrich our souls.. We have more potential than we know, we are more talented than we think, & have bigger hearts than we can imagine.. Let's make a change for the better and USE our LIVES!

You know those moments that we get a bit down..
Those moments we feel like crying or just saddened.. The moments we want to let go of all
negative feelings, and just need a good o'l HUG!


Sometimes the best thing we can do for a loved one is just grab them and hold them tight!
Show them everything will be alright, instead of telling them.. It is the best form of comfort in my opinion.


Hugs are sweet! They are affordable, and cheer you up instantly! They are scientifically proven to boost your immune system:) Hugs are sweet, caring, and often times much needed. Hugs overcome all boundaries. They can speak words that cannot be spoken.


To me, hugging is like transferring energy to the other person..
Positive, loving and happy energy:)

Familia

"Other things may change, but we start and end with family".    

In Spanish the words "mi familia" mean "my family. Isn't it amusing that the ones we argue with the most,

the ones whom advice we hate to hear, the ones who are always right, whom we sometimes have a love this

week, not so much the next-relationship with is our family?

I can honestly say mine are unexplainably insane. That's just putting it mildly.. Don't get me wrong I absolutely

adore each and everyone of these peculiar characters, but truth be told they are slightly out there..

For example, I find it completely humiliating that I go to my 7 year old brother for instructions on fr how to discipline my almost 2 year old.. Our conversations usually go like this..

"Hey Matt, so why do you think he will get over this phase"?  He replies in a assured tone "why of course he will, you just need to put him in time out, its proven...duh"..

I scratch my head and ask my therapist/brother "but what if he starts to cry"?  He blinks, and retorts "see your

problem is you are lazy, you need to be consssisnent"..

At this point I laugh, partially because he pronounced the word adorably, and partially because I feel like I'm speaking to Dr. Phil.

My mother is another story.. Let's see, where do I begin?  

I find it interesting that no matter what is going on in her life she will ALWAYS make time for her soap operas.. I mean there where a few hurricane warnings this summer, and my moms first reaction was "Oh no! no mi novelas"! (which is spanish for soaps).. I also crack up when mom calls to check up on me, and proudly states "Kat, say bible".. "And just so juno, I now belong to twitter"..
I explain to her why watching too much Kardashians, and ETV isn't good for her..


Please don't let me get started on my grandma.. Let's just say she is very...catholic.
The kind that will throw holy water at you if you curse, or mention anything from alcohol, Jay Z, Sex and the city, and my favorite.. George bush. She is convinced he is evil, i don't get it..


My family is filled with lunatic, sarcastic, and interesting individuals, and yet I always seem to come back.. Because there really is no such place as home. 
At the end of the day, they are always there for me.. sure I will never hear the end of it, yet I love them with all my heart!


Thank you Mom for teaching me how to be a woman. For teaching me love, respect, and that god and family are first. I am blessed. I think we should all count our familia as a blessing..

One Step at a time

"The principle part of faith is patience." This was quoted by George MacDonald, Irish poet and christian minister. This quote has so much meaning. I mean if you sit down and really think about it, perseverance and faith go hand in hand. If you want something you go after it.. Go get it, but realize that patience and belief are important factors to helping you reach that desire. So if you are at the brink of giving up, and throwing away all that you have worked for,  I ask that you pause, and reflect..
Think about all that you have been through, all the hard work you have been putting in, all the hours, the sweat, the tears. You have pushed this far, and got so close to tasting your dreams.. For what?
To give up?  Seriously.. What was the point of even trying?

The problem lays here, we push and push so hard, sometimes to the point where we become frustrated with ourselves because we have these desires, these dreams, these goals.. Then we either get distracted or discouraged by minuscule things, the non factors I like to call them.
You know, the things that either don't matter, or obstacles. Small obstacles that prevent us from reaching our goal; only because we allow them to stop us. A great artist by the name of Slym states "without obstacles there is no movement." This is by far one of the most inspirational, and realistic quotes I have heard in a long time. Because it is true, one cannot achieve greatness without some kind of roadblock.
And that is exactly what these obstacles are.. nothing but roadblocks.

It is up to you to identify them, and correct the problem. Whether the obstacle is a negative person, or scenario, you must solve the issue, or cut ties with that person. Whatever is holding you down, whatever is blocking you from advancement, move it, and keep that perseverance..
Keep that faith, be patient and wait.. Whatever you do, do not give up.
For if you do, what is the purpose of having dreams, if you are not willing to make them a reality?
You did not come this far for nothing. Be patient, as long as you stay on the right road keep driving.

Recently I have come across alot of interesting characters, but even more so interesting situations.

Both which have made me question "am I too nice"?  

I mean, overall I believe in manners, & being polite.

I was  raised that way, and it's just the right way in my opinion.

Well I have had numerous individuals complain, criticize, or even mock how "nice", or "soft" I am.

I thought about it for a second.. If the fact that I choose not to argue back with an ignorant

individual (whom has no idea what they are debating), or  the fact that I am not cursing, and showing how 

much of a bit** I am  (to get my point across) makes me too nice, then heck, I'll take it!

:) After all, arguing with an ass only makes YOU look like one..

And competing for the biggest bit** award, is not in my to do list..

So yea...I'd rather be me..

I don't get it, seems like no matter HOW much you DO, or WHAT you CAN do, there will always be someone unhappy, or ready to criticize, ready to find something "WRONG" with you..

To all those people I say a happy "thank you", for testing my principles, and I give you 

a kindhearted  flip of the bird, ( with a smile of course)  Just for sharing your thoughts...:)

At the end of the day we all have to stay true to whom we are. Because how can we be happy

otherwise? Besides, nothing beats originality! 

After all Haagen-Dazs became huge with their original vanilla flavor!

Merry Christmas Y'all!

Hi Everybody!! How are you guys doing? I hope keeping warm, & staying fabulous!
We are going crazy in this household, from cooking our annual roast, to last minute gift wrapping!
On top of all this madness I have a bunch of family flying in from Spain!!! Last minute they drop the bomb!
Yes I know what your thinking "aww how nice". . I'm thinking "holy sh** where is my vodka stash"??

I'm just saying... a girl may need a few bottles tonight..

Yep, I know it's not technically Christmas yet, but did I mention my family is nuts?
They celebrate Christmas the day before, by cooking up a storm, playing music way too loud, & inviting the whole neighborhood!! :) Spanish people, jeesh! well a bunch of drunken strangers, always makes a good story:)
So As I sit here typing this I have my one year old clinging to my leg while yelling in his unexplainable

language (they have corrupted him), the radio is blasting "let it snow",  leaving me nearly deaf, and of course my mom is "not tipsy" as she cuts the carrots. Oh my someone trusted HER with a knife??  Well I guess in despite of the craziness

I am thankful for my nutjob family. I mean whom else to thank for unconditional love, and years of profound embarrassment?

So this Christmas I am wishing you a blessed, fun, & even drunken holiday!
